Classes are structured so that functional self-defense is interspersed with exercises that improve motor skills. Through game forms, strength and stretching exercises are done that will simultaneously improve the social skills of your child. Jing Wu Kids teaches them to interact with their fellow human beings in a fun way.
Because our primary intent is to improve the overall skills in our students, sparring will only occur with the teachers until the age of twelve. Although the program trains very specifically on the self-defense aspect, within the Jing Wu Kids program we try to minimize the possible aggression within our schools.
Three times a year exam days are organized where the students can get their next slip and band. Beforehand one should check with one’s direct teacher (master) if he/she is ready for the exam. Starting with the white belt, via the yellow, blue and brown belt the way is followed to finally the Jing Wu Junior Black Belt!
In order to serve our kids even better we have created an online platform especially for our own members. Here, the Jing Wu Dragons, the Jing Wu Kids and the Jing Wu Warriors can revisit what’s in their program, what details go with it and how this affects the performance. A wonderful way to be able to see the intricacies on screen again at home, often demonstrated by Sifu Benno Wai and Sifu Pele Nguyen and their team of Wu Kids Team Instructors. In addition, special videos will be uploaded regularly on specific topics. Each month, a Jing Wu student will be invited to participate in a video one time.
