On Sunday, February 1st, we will be holding an grading day for our BJJ practitioners at the Amsterdam Academy. We will be making a slight adjustment to the “Blue Belt” testing. As we did a few years ago, we will once again be holding a technical test for Blue Belts. This means that students who are aiming for this belt (after approval from one of the three senseis) will undergo a one-hour technical test.
The technical requirements are available in PDF format and can be requested from Prof. Benno Wai. The shark tank will remain essentially the same, with the caveat that the duration may be adjusted due to a student’s physical limitations (serious injury or prolonged recovery). We strive to continue to create a safe environment where everyone can be pushed to a higher personal level with the support of their fellow Jiu Jitsu practitioners.
Remember that to actually be considered to get a new belt you must have attended at least 5 grading events as to have collected your stripes!
Time:
Blue belt: 11.00 – 12.00 | All other (Belt stripes, Purple and Brown belts): 12.30 – 15.00 (possible we will go overtime)
Afterwards we will have drinks and snacks for those who are interested.

Investment:
30 euro (cash): for when you are grading for a new belt (includes the new belt) and for all white belts joining the grading.
When you are already a Blue belt and you don’t go for a new belt, only stripes and event it is 25 euro
When you are already a Purple belt and you don’t go for a new belt, only stripes and event it is 20 euro
When you are already a Brown belt and you don’t go for a new belt, only stripes and event it is 15 euro
Black Belts are for free
