It was a beautiful summer weekend in Cambridge when Sifu Benno Wai, accompanied by a team of experienced UCT Kung Fu instructors, arrived in this historic UK city. Sifu Benno and his team were at UCT Cambridge to share their knowledge and expertise in Wing Chun Kung Fu with the enthusiastic students. For three intense and exciting days, Sifu Benno Wai led several training sessions, during which he introduced attendees to the intricacies of Wing Chun Kung Fu.
A recurring highlight of the visit is the exam, where students can demonstrate their progress and dedication. With sweat on their foreheads and determination in their eyes, they performed every movement of the Wing Chun forms, plus the applications of the requested techniques.
For the ‘open’ seminar, ‘Yor Yau Lap Sau’ was taught by Sifu Benno, a concept from the Cham Kiu form known for generating power and energy through two opposing attacking movements aimed at an isolated arm of the opponent. Sifu Benno Wai also spent time teaching several private lessons, tailoring his instruction to the individual needs of the Students.
On Sunday morning, Sifu Benno Wai gave a Master Class on how to use the infamous ‘Bart Cham Dao’ – double knives.
It was an exciting few days and we are already eagerly looking forward to the next visit in early 2024!
